Some addresses we keep quiet, by request. A wilderness estate that has belonged to one family for sixty winters. A table set on the ice for one evening only. A wooden door at the back of a sleeping villa that opens onto a private lake. The true address is the people who welcome you in.

The marquee is winter. The car turns into the drive and the sauna is already lit; the path to the ice hole is swept; a cup of something hot is in your hand before your coat is off. We read the sky each evening, choosing the places where the night feels most ready to open. When the aurora arrives, it arrives unhurried — often somewhere no one else is watching.

The people who meet you here are the same people who know the place by heart. They have spent many winters reading the snow and the weather, which valleys stay quiet, which families want a long table indoors, which children will remember the first sound of skis on new snow. Quiet care is already in place, should the north ever ask more of us. Privacy is held with the same natural discretion as the house itself.

By August, the snow recedes and the days stretch. We run one summer chapter — long evenings on still water, salmon over open fire, midnight hours in the forest. Same hosts, less weather.
