Near Ivalo, the road falls quiet before Kuura appears: dark timber, warm windows and snow taking the sound from the yard. Inside, the lounge gathers around the fire; beyond it, every corridor belongs to the same small circle of people. Kuura is not a hotel you share. It is a hotel you take whole, closed to other guests and held to the rhythm of the people you brought with you.

Days here are shaped by the conditions.
The buy-out places all 15 rooms, the sauna building, kitchen and restaurant inside one private boundary. The house closes to other guests. The lounge, the corridors and every key belong to your party for the stay.
Breakfast and dinner are included as full board. Your days can begin around the table, move into the fells, and return to a house whose only timetable is your own.

Fifteen rooms · two characters
Every room is yours, whether it is occupied or left quiet.
Thirteen double rooms and two family rooms make 34 beds in all. A smaller party does not take a smaller part of Kuura: the unoccupied rooms remain inside the buy-out, not on another guest's booking.
Across the house, the rooms carry two names: Kuru and Rakka. Two room characters within the same fifteen-room house.
The whole property means more than every key.

A separate cabin gives a family council or working session its own room away from the bedrooms and lounge.

The restaurant and adjoining kitchen sit inside the buy-out. Breakfast and dinner are included as full board.

What sits outside the house
- Flights, and any private aircraft, which are arranged and billed separately.
- Private activities. Each is booked for your party alone and billed on top of the house at the vendor's own price.
- Restaurant meals taken away from the house.
- Alcohol and cellar, which are bought to the party's brief.
- Travel insurance, which we ask every party to hold.
- Lift passes, equipment hire and any activity a vendor prices per person.
- Anything a third party charges directly to you rather than through us.
- Gratuities, which are never expected and never added.
How we work
Private Nordic is part of Xwander Nordic. We do not own the houses, the aircraft or the vehicles we arrange, and we do not own land in Lapland. We hold the relationships, we make the arrangements, and we stand behind them — but each supplier's own terms apply to their part of the trip, and we will tell you whose terms govern what before you commit to anything.
